The LibDem minister thinks Hendricks is ‘fabulous’ and should be a role model for young girls, teaching them what a woman should look like.
The size-16 actress, who stars in the TV series Mad Men, was voted ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ by female readers of Esquire magazine and now Featherstone wants more curvaceous ladies to follow in her footsteps.
Hendricks was praised for her healthy figure, while Featherstone criticised the ‘overexposure’ of skinny models, who are also airbrushed, saying they are causing pressure on young girls to ‘conform to completely unachievable body stereotypes’.
‘Christina Hendricks is absolutely fabulous. We need more of these role models.

The minister now wants health warnings on airbrushed photographs, saying the celebrity’s body has been retouched.
She said: ‘I’m very keen that children and young women should be informed about airbrushing so they don’t fall victim to looking at an image and thinking anyone can have a 12-inch waist. It’s so not possible.’
