One: Lots of confusion about what to call Charlie. We now know her real name is Ivy, a con artist and pretender to the Upper East Side throne. But the rest of the Gossip Girl gang still thinks she's sweet, troubled cousin Charlie. So what do we call her? Charlie? Ivjavascript:void(0)y? We'd go with Charvy, but that sounds like we want her to have a passionate romance with herself.
Two: A bad-news baby. We don't know who that pregnancy test belongs to, but none of the suspects are really at a baby-making place in their lives. Although, if it's Blair's, she may end up putting a Bass on the throne of Monaco, which would be kind of awesome.
Three: More Dan and Blair. After Blair shot him down, we thought the Dan-Blair romance was off the table, but that puppy-dog glance he gave her as she left for the summer suggests he's still carrying a bit of a torch.
Four: Trouble for Dan. Vanessa's last act as a full-time cast member was to throw her best friend under the bus and publish the memoir that will basically alienate every person he knows. Will he have any friends left come fall? And what will Gossip Girl herself do to her old-media rival? Print may not quite be dead, but Dan Humphrey soon could be.
Five: Movie star Serena. When last we saw Serena, she was falling sideways into a Hollywood career. But we're willing to bet she won't stay behind the camera — S was made for the spotlight. We like that this show isn't afraid of going big, but making Serena a movie star and Blair a princess at the same time is a little much. At this rate, by Season Five Nate will be an astronaut.
